Poker Stars features very good software, second only perhaps to Ultimate Bet. They offer an excellent multi-table-tournament interface, and players only rarely report bugs or system freezes that sometimes plague online poker sites. While not as slick and aesthetically pleasing as some of its competitors' offerings, the Poker Stars software is generally very user-friendly and intuitive.
Caliber of competition: A -
While Poker Stars once had a reputation for some of the tougher online cash games, most players agree that the games have become considerably softer as the site has grown. The high-stakes no-limit games continue to be the stomping ground for several skilled professionals, but we have found the limit hold'em games to be quite profitable even at stakes as high as 30/60. They also pride themselves on taking very seriously reports of cheating and collusion at their tables; we hope that in the near future other online poker sites take note of and mirror Poker Stars' diligence in investigating alleged wrongdoing. |
